Draconian Tides Pt.9

My alarm went off, but I was already awake, the nightmare had destroyed my ability to sleep and I had lain there for 6 hours thinking about what the nightmare meant. It was eerily similar to the dream that had changed us all, but at the same time that shadow was incredibly menacing, were we not meant to be dragons and that dream meant we were going to lose our abilities? I climbed out of bed and immediately tested the transformation, I touched the electrical socket, got shocked and changed. I still was able to change, so unless we lost them at 3:30, that assumption was dead wrong. I shifted back and decided to worry about it later, I got ready and left for school with Joe. When we got there I went to my class but strangely, none of the others were there. I took out my phone and called each of them, but no one was answering, I got to Corbyn and he answered "hello".

"Corbyn, where are you?" I asked.

"Home, I'm not feeling well, and I had a nightmare last night" he said.

"Let me guess, you saw a menacing shadow and the dream played out like the transformation dream?" I said.

"Yea, how'd you know?" he asked.

"I had it too, I don't know what it means" I said.

"Do you know where Isaac is?" I asked.

"I'm right behind you" Isaac answered. I turned to see him standing behind me.

"Oh, never mind Corbyn, found him" I said.

"Okay, well, I gotta go" Corbyn said.

"Alright, see you later" I said and hung up the phone.

"So you had that nightmare too?" Isaac asked.

"Yea, scared me half to death" I said.

"Same here, what did it mean?" he asked.

"Your guess is as good as mine" I said.

We sat down and got ready to work, the day played out rather uneventfully, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something menacing was on the horizon, watching us and plotting our downfall.. the fact that Will and Roger were missing didn't help my paranoia any. The day ended and we all headed to my house to talk about what was happening.


Me, Joe, Isaac and Corbyn were in my living room discussing the strange dream and trying to find out where Will and Roger had gone.

"I thought that the dream meant that we were to lose our abilities, but the fact that it's past 3:30 and we're still dragons means that idea is dead, so what do you guys think?" I asked.

"Well, maybe it has something to do with the kids in Rhode Island" Corbyn offered.

"Nah, those guys seem to nice to want to get rid of us" I said.

"Woah, guys, you're not gonna like this, but take a look" Isaac said. We gathered around and watched, this video had been recorded and posted about a day ago. It showed one of the kids, the water dragon one since he looked similar to Will fighting another dragon, the dragon looked eerily similar to the shadow we had seen in the dreams. The water dragon flung him into the air, facepalmed himself for some reason, then took off after him, they collided in mid air, then fell to the ground creating a crater, the entire crowd then swarmed over the dragon and the police eventually took him away. The video ended and we all looked at each other, the same thing on all our mind's. Was that dragon after us now?. We looked for details on the dragon, but couldn't find any. If he was after us, then we needed to practice our abilities. With Will and Roger out of commission for whatever reason, we needed all the practice we could. We stepped outside and began to practice, we focused on our attack abilities more than the others, we needed to be battle-ready before he found us. Unfortunately, while we were practicing, a large shadow suddenly appeared and the same voice we had heard in the dream said "there you are!, I finally found you".

We looked up to see a red and black dragon flying above us, he had a very demonic feel to him and the aura of his power was incredible. I fired a lightning bolt from my hand, but it bounced off of him, Corbyn shot a beam of ice, but he threw that off too. "Aim for his wings!" I yelled, he did, but again the dragon just shook it off. Joe shot some fireballs at him, but instead of doing anything, they seemed to make him stronger. Isaac pounded the ground and sent several earthen spires up at him, they seemed to stun him and slow him down, but only temporarily. "Run!" I yelled and we took off flying, he gave chase and we flew as fast as we could. We tried everything to slow him down, but nothing worked and he kept getting closer. We flew into a bank of clouds and I had an idea, I focused and unloaded all the electrical energy I had into the clouds, the cloud turned gray and a lightning storm formed, the storm slowed him down quite a bit and we managed to leap ahead, but he made it out and continued to chase us. "I'm out of ideas, anyone else" I said, They all looked at me with solemn faces, no one had any ideas. We kept flying, but he was too fast. Just as we were about to stop flying, a bright flash appeared next to us and another dragon, though he looked very different, appeared next to us, he was covered in purple scales and looked like he was half-dragon, half-human. "hey, are you those dragons we saw on the internet" he asked.

"Yea, but this isn't the best time" I said, pointing behind us. He turned to look and said "oh great, it's Argash"

"You know this creep!?" Corbyn yelled.

"He hunted us a while back, I'm surprised he escaped that quick" the guy said.

"Can you stop him" I asked.

"No, just grab hands, I'll get us out of here" he said. I didn't really trust him, but it was either him or Argash, so we all grabbed hands and he closed his eyes and in an instant, we were in what looked like a  house, I looked around to see several other kids gathered around the area. I was out of energy both from the chase and using all my energy to slow him down and I blacked out, the last thing I heard was "Neil, what's going on".
