It all began with a choice, Human or Pokemon, which do I choose. But then maybe I'm getting too far ahead so let's start from the beginning. My name is Jack and although it might seem weird I have fallen in love with a Pokemon, a Shaymin more specifically. It all started on a normal day, I was sitting in the park minding my own business when some thugs came up and tried to rob me. I managed to get away and ran for quite a few blocks before I managed to lose them completely. when I looked around I didn't recognize the area I was in, I walked into a store called "Valuable Secrets" and walked up to the desk, but when I asked the shop owner where I was, he didn't answer. So while I waited for someone who would be able to tell me I browsed around the store, the place had many different trinkets that caught my eye but one that caught my attention more than the others was a mysterious doll that looked like my favorite Pokemon Shaymin. I figured it would make a great gift for my girlfriend June, I picked it up and looked at the price, "$10.00! Wow, that's expensive for a little doll" I walked up to the desk and asked about it and this time the shopkeeper took notice to me.

He said "uh, you really don't want that" and I told him that I just wanted to ask about the pricing of it, he took the doll from me and went to put it down when suddenly he stopped and said "I'll give it to you for $2.00."

"I thought you said that I don't want to buy it?" I asked.

He replied "but she wants you too". I looked at him like he was crazy but decided to buy it anyway, I gave him the money and he gave me the doll and told me how to get back to my home and I left.

When I got back to the house I took some time to look the doll over and noticed that  it seemed very life-like but I figured it was to get people's attention so they would buy it. I set it down and headed to the kitchen to get a snack and when I came back it wasn't where I left it, I started to freak out when I noticed it on a nearby table and picked it up thinking how did it get over here when out of nowhere I heard a voice say "I moved myself over  there" I looked around, but couldn't find the source of the voice, "in your hand" it said, and I looked at the Shaymin doll and the voice said "Hi, my name is Saline"

I said "um my name is Jack."

She said "you must be pretty confused, but there's no need for alarm, I won't hurt you."

I set her down on the table and sat down to keep from falling over out of shock and said "how did you know what I was thinking."


She said "I'm telepathic, so I can read all your thought and I even know some of your secrets" she said and laughed as I blushed out of embarrassment, "but the one secret that caught my attention at the store was that you want to become a Pokémon yourself, if I'm correct."

I looked at her completely caught off guard that she knew that and said "yes, I do, but why did that catch your attention."

She said "I can change you into one, but not yet"

"Why cant you change me" I asked

She said "its permanent if I change you now but I can use my telepathy to show you what its like to be a Pokemon."

"Alright" I answered, a little disappointed.  .

She said "then lay back, close your eyes and I'll show you", I did as she said, but before I lay back, I picked her up and set her down on my chest, I closed my eyes and waited. A few seconds later, I felt a strange presence in my head and suddenly I found myself in the middle of a flower field, I took some time to look myself over and found that I was a full-fledged Shaymin. Strangely I felt as if I had been one my whole life, i knew how to move on all fours and I knew all of the abilities, I looked around but couldn't find Saline, so I called out for her and waited and she eventually stepped out of the flowers on my right.

"Where are we?" I asked

She answered "the flower garden that I came from, this is my home and it could be your home if you want to come with me"

I replied "the offer is tempting, but the fact that I already have a girlfriend makes it so that we can't be together"

She replied "I understand, but can we at least enjoy our time together"

I answered "of course" so we started to explore, she showed me all of the places that she liked, we then began to play around for a while unfortunately we had to return to reality after awhile because  I had heard the doorbell.

I was wondering who was at the door when I heard a voice say "jack, its me, im here for our date" It was June, I had completely forgotten that we had scheduled a dinner for that night, I picked saline up and brought her to my room to hide her then I headed to the front door and let her in.

"Hey jack, I tried to call earlier but you didn't answer" She asked

I replied "I just got home"

She answered "but don't you usually get home by 2"

I looked at the clock and was surprised to see that 3 hours had passed in the vision It didn't feel like that long I thought and answered "must have lost track of time, come on in, I need some time to cook so make yourself comfortable." I headed to the kitchen to make some spaghetti and garlic bread and set everything up. After I had started everything I headed up to check on saline, but when I got there she was gone, I looked everywhere but all I found was a note saying:

Jack:

I decided to leave, as its plain to see that you are enjoying your life. I am sorry for causing any inconvenience and I hope that you have a great life.

Saline

I was sad that she had decided to leave, but I understood why she did. I set the note down and headed back to the kitchen, by this time the noodles had finished steaming and I began to finish everything up. I brought the food in, sat down and we began to eat.

"So how is the company doing" June asked

I replied "good, very good, we've gotten several offers from many different company's, but one that caught my eye was this offer to merge with a company known as Creative Masters inc."

"That's the company I work for" she said.

I looked at her and said "Really"

She answered "yea, why did the offer catch your eye though."

I knew she wasn't going to like the answer but we had promised nothing but honesty in our relationship so I reluctantly answered "the offer, if taken, may hurt us more than help us, the amount of money the company wants from all profits is incredibly high and I feel they may be trying to take advantage of us."

As expected she didn't take it lightly but she was calmer than I had expected, "but if you merge with our company then you'd be making twice as much as you are getting now, isn't that worth it?" She said.

I replied "it might be but I need time to look it over". we finished up the rest of the dinner in silence, I could tell that she was a bit annoyed at what I had said about the offer, but it was true. After dinner she headed back home and I got ready to go to bed. While asleep, I dreamed that i was in the flower field again, only Saline wasn't there.

I woke up the next morning, and got ready to head to work, but when I arrived, the whole place seemed different, I headed to my office and asked around, as it turns out, the president was planning on taking the offer from Junes company. They were going to discuss it at a meeting later today, "great, I get one chance to change his mind or the company is doomed" I said to myself. I headed to my office and began to work on the presentation that I would show to try and convince the president that this offer was a bad choice. As I was working though, I kept getting distracted, I saw Saline at every turn, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't seem to let her go. Later that day, I headed to the meeting, luckily I was the first one to present my opinion, I went to the board and placed everything up and began my speech.

" Mr. Warren, I believe that the company merge is a bad idea, I took the time to look over the contract and...I..." I trailed off because I could see Saline sitting in the nearby planter, I walked over and leaned in, not even thinking on how weird this might look. But she faded.

Mr. Warren asked "is something wrong."

I answered "no, nothings wrong" and went back to the front.

Before I could continue, he said "thank you Jack, just please sit down." I knew that I had completely screwed up, I sat down and waited for the meeting to finish up.

When the meeting was finally over, I went to my office and began to pack up for the day when Mr. Warren called me into his office. I could tell that it wasn't gonna be good news when I walked in, but I sat down anyway.

He said "Jack, I want to know what happened earlier, you seemed very distracted and you nearly cost us the contract with that little display of yours"

I replied "I'm sorry, I just got a little distracted, is all."

He replied "I don't want to see this kind of thing happen again, whatever is distracting you, you need to stop letting it."

"Truthfully, I'm not sure if its ever gonna leave me alone" I replied.

He said "I am sorry to hear that, but if your not going to focus on work, I'm going to have to let you go ". I nodded, stood up, went back to the office, packed everything and left.

When I got home, I unlocked the door and went in, I found that the lights were off as I walked in "strange, I don't remember turning off the lights before I left". I turned them on and found June sitting on my couch looking very angry at me.

"This talk wont end well, will it"? I asked and she shook her head, I took a seat and prepared myself.

"I heard that you got fired from your job" she said, the venom of anger evident in her voice.

I answered "yes but I don't know why that would make you angry."

She asked "Why was there a note in your room and who is this Saline girl."

I replied "its not what you think, she..."

She interrupted " then what is it, because it sounds like your cheating on me."

I replied "please just let me explain."

She looked at me and I could see the anger and sorrow in her eyes, then she said the one thing I wasn't expecting "I'm sorry jack, but its over" she said and stormed out. Just like that, in one day I lost my job and my girlfriend.

    The next few weeks were not fun, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to hold down a job, every time I got one, I lost it because I could not focus, I saw Saline everywhere and it was tearing me up that she was gone. I eventually was kicked out of my apartment. I kept trying to get a job even after the loss,but it never seemed to work out, eventually I gave up and decided that maybe moving to a different place would help so I called for a taxi and left for a small town just south of the city. unfortunately I couldn't afford the fare and had to get out of the taxi at a gas station halfway between the two places. Disappointed I began the long hike to the town, that night as I was walking, trying to get a ride to the town by hitchhiking, I suddenly felt the urge to go into the forest, almost as if something was calling me there, so I turned  and walked towards the treeline.

As I was hiking through the forest I came across a clearing that was fairly open on all sides. I decided to sit down and rest for the night so I set up a little camp and lay down on the ground looking at the sky. Sure is a beautiful night I thought to myself when I saw a shooting star go by, I closed my eyes and wished that I could see Saline again because I wanted desperately to just leave everything behind and be with her. I rolled over and fell asleep.

I was awoken by a strange sound, I sat up and looked around to see that something was coming out of the treeline, I tried to see what it was but it was to dark. I started to panic when I heard It coming closer, when it stepped into the light, it was Saline.

"Jack, is that you" she asked.

I said "yes, its me, its good to see you again Saline".

She walked over, jumped into my arms and asked "what are you doing here?, didn't things work out for you?"

I replied "no, things took a turn for the worst after you left, I lost my job, June broke up with me, and I lost everything".

"Sorry to hear that" she said.

I asked "Saline, if your offer still stands then I would like to go with you"

She asked "Really?"

I said "yes, I don't have many connections left in this world and things just aren't working out for me, and...well...it took me all this time, our encounter at the store, and me losing everything to realize that I should be with you."

She answered "I was hoping that you would ask, the change might feel weird at first but you will get used to it"she said and placed her paw on my forehead. I felt a strange feeling rush through my body and when I looked down at my hands I found that white fur had begun to grow on them and my hands had lost a finger, my thumbs had moved up and my other fingers had begun to shrink. I had also grown pads on the palm and when I checked my feet I found that they had also gone through the same change. I could feel my hair begin to get longer and when I looked at it, it was turning green. By this time the fur had completely covered my torso and was starting to grow on my head. When it reached my mouth and nose, I felt my bones begin to reshape creating a muzzle and my nose turned black and moved to the top of it, my hair finished growing and then merged with my body creating what felt like a bush on my back and I suddenly felt flowers appearing on parts of my back and on the side of my head, I started to shrink and at the same time I could hear the bones in my arms and legs reforming to a quadruped stance, when it was done I was a full-fledged Shaymin.

"How do you feel" I heard Saline ask.

I answered "i feel great, it's weird but I like it"

"Good, now its time to go home" she said.

"How?" I asked.

She answered "by flying of course"

"I didn't know we could fly" I said.

She answered "follow me, ill show you how."

So I followed her for a while and we eventually came across another clearing with a small flower in the middle.

"The flower's pollen changes us from this form to sky form" she said and stepped up to the flower, she then began to glow and I watched as she grew taller, her ears grew out into wings and when it was done she looked almost like a reindeer, only smaller, she also had what appeared to be a scarf on, but looking closer I could tell it was two flower petals. "In this form, we can fly" and as she said it she lifted off from the ground. "It's your turn, just go up and touch the flower" I went up to it and touched it and almost instantly I could see the glow from my body and I felt all the changes happen and I was in sky form. I looked up, thought about flying, and felt myself leave the ground. "Follow me" Saline said and I went with her, we eventually reached a small cave and flew through it and when we got out of the other side, I could see the flower garden below. I smiled for the first time in weeks because I felt that I was truly where I belonged.
